Adam Jatho, son of Johann Jatho and Elise Müller, portrait, Victoria, Texas

Adam was born in Kassel, Germany in 1838 and traveled to the United States in 1945, where his family established a home in Victoria, Texas. He became a cabinet maker and was a prominent citizen in the town of Victoria. he married Ida Sophie Hensoldt in 1865 and they had nine children. The Jatho family may have been related to ours. They donated a photo of our New Orleans ancestor, Norwood Jatho, to the Victoria Regional History Center, which suggests some kind of connection.
