Edith Elizabeth Tiedeman and her brother Robert Samuel Tiedaman, Charleston

The Tiedemans were a prolific family descended from Carsten Tiedeman in Bremen. His son Otto Tiedeman emigrated to Charleston, South Carolina and established a wholesale grocery business. Edith and Robert were the children of Otto Tiedeman Jr. Robert married twice, was widowed both times, and eventually married Maryliese Jatho from our Charleston Jatho clan. Edith, who studied literature and music at a women's college, married and had two children before dying prematurely after a post-surgery dose of anesthesia.
