Margaret A. Burke Burrill, wife of James Burrill, mother of our Burril line, Illinois

Margaret A. Burke was born to Patrick Burke and Margaret Glyny (or Glinney) in Murroe, Boher and Abington parish, County of Tipperary, Limerick on 12 June 1841. She emigrated with her parents and siblings just six years later to Will County, Illinois. She married the widowed Englishman James Burrill in 1864. They had eleven children and lived in Joliet and Braidwood. One of their sons, John Albert Burrill, married Laura Bruns of our Bruns clan. This portrait of Margaret was taken at the C. Murr photography studio on Jefferson Street in Joliet.
