Edith Bartram Gold, future wife of George Phelps Fondersmith Sr., Philadelphia

Year: 1896 • Collection: Vonderschmitt

Edith was the daughter of James M. Gold and Mary Francis Ritner, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1884. She poses here with a book in a local photography studio, about age twelve. She later married George Phelps Fondersmith Senior, who was a descendant of our Vinderschmitt family in Spachbrücken, Hesse-Darmstadt. The Fondersmith family emigrated to the USA in the early 1800s and manufactured firearms.
