Belum is a small town on the north coast of Lower Saxony near Cuxhaven. Fritz Peter Petersen was the son of Matthias Petersen of Leck and Esther Møller of Medelbye, Schleswig-Holstein, grandson of Helena Maria Petersen Burmeister. The wedding party included Fritz' parents, seated at right, as well as a young girl with her cat and a visiting white goose.
