Norwood Jatho Sr., son of Edmond Jatho and Edith (Ripley) Jatho, New Orleans.

This portrait was probably taken prior to his marriage to Adelaide Gadpaille in 1917. Norwood was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1887. There's a family legend that he was named "Norwood" because of a casket his pregnant mother saw on a train trip from New Orleans. Whatever the origin of the same it was popular in the New Orleans Jatho family amd is still used today.
