Cabinet card, studio of Gustav Schmidt, Leck, Schleswig-Holstein. Thomas, standing, was the second husband of the widowed Catherine Petersen in Chicago. His brothers Søren and Casper remained in Schleswig, while another brother Christian, whose picture we don't have, emigrated to Denmark and raised a family there. This restored photo uses programs and processes that attempt to replicate the original condition and clarity of the cabinet card.
