The hybrid musk rose Penelope (Pemberton, 1924), obtained from The Uncommon Rose in Oregon last September. At present it's 14" tall in this Southern California garden and being trained as a climber. Currently it's growing next to Collette, another climber, and is surrounded by companion plants (liriope, single white gardenias, pelargoniums and Serbian bellflower).

Penelope gets 5-6 hours of sunlight per day but handles the morning shade conditions very well, not even fussing during June Gloom.
