After all the rain in we're finally seeing some sunny days. The tea rose General Gallieni is just about to open (below). Return to March 31 garden photos.

Norwich
Castle (left) is an upright hybrid tea with light orange flowers. The
front rose garden includes a mix of old and new varieties including hybrid
teas, teas, Portlands, Bourbons, hybrid musks, moss and shrub roses. Single
and minitature roses are also showcased. As spring progresses more photos
will be added, so check back again.
The entire front garden was redesigned this past winter to allow more roses to be placed in the ground, and also to add a bit of much-needed order. A brick path was added as well as a row of Vietnamese pots with annuals (see below).

The back garden
has been busy as well. Wet weather in February delayed
azaleas but now they're putting on a show. Camellias are finishing their
bloom period. At right is an anemone-form variety, Camellia japonica 'Elegans'.
